NEET PG Result 2026: How to Check Scorecard

The tab that matters on the morning after a postgraduate medical entrance is not a coaching-channel graphic. It is the result row on the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences site, the one that shows a raw score out of 720 and a NEET PG rank. NBEMS declared the NEET PG 2026 result on Thursday, 24 September 2026. Reports from The Hindu, India Today and Careers360 all place that declaration on the same day. The rank list can be viewed on the NBEMS websites. The individual scorecard is a later download, and the outlets quoting the notice do not agree on the first day that PDF opens.

Verification note: This page was written on 25 September 2026. Qualifying marks below are the figures The Hindu, Times Now and Careers360 printed from the NBEMS notice: General/EWS 262 (50th percentile), General PwBD 244 (45th percentile), and SC/ST/OBC including PwBD of those categories 226 (40th percentile), each out of 720. Confirm them on the PDF at natboard.edu.in before you plan a seat. College closing ranks are not in that table, and they are not on this page. India Today reported that more than 2.65 lakh candidates appeared for the exam, which it described as held in August. This guide does not add an exam day the notice extracts we used did not print.

What was released on 24 September, and what was not

The result that went live on 24 September is the score-and-rank view. Candidates can see the raw marks and the NEET PG 2026 rank. The exam is the entrance for MD, MS, DNB, DrNB Direct 6 Years courses and PG medical diploma courses for the 2026-27 session, which is how India Today described the scope. A rank on that page is an all-India rank in this examination. It is not an allotment letter, a state rank for a particular counselling, or a promise of a clinical seat.

The individual scorecard is a separate document. Edexlive, Careers360 and Times Now, each describing the NBEMS notice, say the scorecard will be available for download on or after 1 October 2026 through the candidate login. The Hindu’s report of the same result says individual scorecards can be downloaded from natboard.edu.in on or after 10 October 2026. Both dates cannot be the operative line of one PDF. Until you open the notice on the NBEMS site and read the sentence yourself, treat “1 October” and “10 October” as a conflict in secondary reporting, not as a date you should print on a family WhatsApp forward. The point every one of those reports agrees on is the next sentence: once issued, the scorecard stays on the site for six months, and NBEMS has said requests after that window will not be met because the file will no longer be hosted. Download it when the login actually serves the PDF, and keep your own copy.

Answer key and response sheet

Times Now quoted the NBEMS wording on the answer key. In line with the information bulletin and with Supreme Court directions the notice cites, NBEMS is to publish the answer key on or after 1 October 2026. Through the applicant login, a candidate should then be able to see question ID numbers, the correct answer key IDs, the response IDs they marked, and the score given for each question under the evaluation scheme. That is a personal login view. It is not a public master key pasted into a Telegram channel. If a channel posts a “memory-based key” before that login opens, it is not the NBEMS key.

How to check the result without a forwarded link

1. Type the address yourself: natboard.edu.in or nbe.edu.in. Do not tap a link in a message, even one that uses the right words.
2. Open the NEET PG 2026 section on that site. The result link sits with the public notice, not inside a coaching advertisement.
3. The result view shows the raw score and the NEET PG rank. Save the page or the PDF the site itself offers.
4. For the individual scorecard and the answer-key view, use the applicant login when NBEMS switches it on. The portal asks for the credentials it was built for — typically the application number and the password, and some login screens also ask for a date of birth. Use whatever that official form asks on the day. Do not reuse a password from a different exam.
5. An Indian Express live blog also mentioned a DigiALM host as a place the login might sit. Open that host only if the NBEMS result page links to it. A lookalike domain with an extra letter is a common exam-week trick.

If the page will not load, it is usually traffic, not a cancelled result. Try again from the same official domain. A “server down, pay to see your rank” message on any other site is not NBEMS. The board does not collect a fee through a personal UPI ID to display a rank that is already on its own site.

Qualifying marks are not a college cutoff

The notice, as reported, sets minimum qualifying criteria in percentiles and then prints the mark those percentiles correspond to this year:

• General / EWS: 50th percentile, reported cut-off score 262 out of 720
• General PwBD: 45th percentile, reported cut-off score 244 out of 720
• SC / ST / OBC, including PwBD of SC, ST and OBC: 40th percentile, reported cut-off score 226 out of 720

Qualifying means the score meets the eligibility floor in the information bulletin for admission to those courses. It does not mean a seat at a named college, in a named state, or in a named round of counselling. Seat cutoffs move with the number of seats, the choices filled, and the category in that counselling. They are published by the Medical Counselling Committee and by state authorities after rounds happen. Anyone selling a “2026 closing rank for dermatology in your city” on 25 September is guessing, or recycling an older year’s mop-up list. This page will not invent those numbers.

Percentile and marks are also easy to swap in a forward. A friend who says “the cutoff is the 50th rank” has mixed the percentile with the rank. The 50th percentile is a position in the score distribution. Rank 50 would be a handful of candidates at the top. Read the column headings on the NBEMS table before you tell a sibling they have “missed by a percentile”.

What you need in hand, now and later

Checking the result does not require a stack of certificates. It requires the application credentials and a connection to the official site. The documents come later, and they come from the counselling bulletin, not from a blog.

When the scorecard login opens, save the PDF. The six-month hosting rule is the reason. A candidate who waits until counselling week in the hope that the file will still be one click away can find the board has already taken it down. The notice language reported by Edexlive is plain: late requests will be rejected.

For counselling itself, keep the originals you already used to sit the exam, and wait for the checklist in the MCC or state information bulletin before you pay for fresh affidavits. In previous sessions candidates have been asked for identity proof, the MBBS degree or provisional certificate, the internship completion certificate, the registration certificate, category or disability certificates where a claim was made, and photographs in a specified format. That is a description of the usual shape of an Indian medical counselling file. It is not the 2026 checklist. If your category certificate was due to be renewed, sort that with the issuing authority. Do not take a date from a Telegram admin.

Counselling, without a made-up calendar

All India Quota counselling for NEET PG is run by the Medical Counselling Committee when it notifies a schedule on mcc.nic.in. States and some institutions run their own counselling on their own sites. NBEMS conducts the exam and declares the result. It does not allot the MD seat. As of 25 September 2026 this page has not seen an MCC date for the first round of NEET PG 2026 counselling, so none is printed here. A “round 1 choice filling starts tonight” message that asks for an OTP is a reason to close the chat, not a reason to fill choices.

A practical order that does not depend on a leaked calendar:

• Save the rank and the score from the official result.
• Note whether the score is at or above the qualifying mark for the category you actually claimed.
• Watch mcc.nic.in and your state directorate. Bookmark them. Do not follow a shortened link.
• When a schedule is notified, read the information bulletin for that round before you pay a fee. The fee, the refund rule and the document list are in that PDF.
• Fill choices yourself, or with a person you can sit next to. A remote “counsellor” who wants your login is asking for the only credential that can submit a choice.

Scams that follow this result every year

The pattern is stable even when the domain names change. Someone claims the rank list on the official site is “provisional” and that a final rank will be sent after a fee. Someone offers a reserved seat in a private college for a token amount, with the balance due before the allotment letter. Someone circulates a screenshot of a rank that is one digit off from yours and asks you to “verify” by sharing the application password. None of that is how NBEMS or MCC publishes an outcome.

The official result does not arrive as a PDF attached to a Gmail from a free address. It does not ask you to install an app that is not on the Play Store listing of the board. If a relative has already paid, the useful next step is the bank and the cyber-crime portal, not a second payment to “release” the first.

A calm checklist for the next fortnight

• Result viewed on natboard.edu.in or nbe.edu.in, not on a mirror.
• Rank and score written down, and a copy saved.
• Qualifying mark checked against the category on your own application, using the notice PDF.
• Scorecard date left as “when the login serves the file”, with 1 October and 10 October both treated as reported lines until you see the notice.
• No college cutoff copied from a video.
• MCC and state sites checked by you, on a schedule you typed.
• Password not shared.
