GTA 6 Release Date: 19 November 2026

The date has survived enough earnings calls that it is fair to print it as the current plan, and fair to remember who has moved it before. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on Thursday, 19 November 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two’s pre-order release prices the game at 79.99 US dollars. A PC date is not announced. An Indian rupee price is not in that US release, so we will not invent one.

Verification note: Take-Two Interactive’s news release states that pre-orders began on 25 June 2026 at midnight local time, and that the game launches on 19 November 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at 79.99 US dollars. Digital pre-load begins 12 November 2026. The physical edition, a box with a download code, is available from 12 November so players can pre-load. Rockstar’s newswire carried the same pre-order news. Later Take-Two briefings in 2026, including comments reported from CEO Strauss Zelnick, kept 19 November as the date. A future delay is a thing this company has done before. It has not been announced. The date in this guide is the current official date.

Pre-orders themselves opened at midnight local time on 25 June 2026. That sentence was about the pre-order, not a promise that the game unlocks at midnight local on 19 November. Rockstar has used local midnight for major launches in the past. “Has used” is not “confirmed for this one”. If you are taking a day off work in India, wait for the pre-load instructions in your console’s store. Those instructions will name the hour. A YouTube thumbnail will not.

Where to buy it legally

PlayStation Store, the Xbox / Microsoft Store, Rockstar’s own channels, and physical retail that is selling the official box. In India that usually means the console stores, Amazon, Flipkart, and high-street game shops once stock exists. The box contains a download code. You will still need the console online to install. Buying a code from a random Instagram comment is how people pay for a picture of a code. Region locks and account country matter. A US code on an Indian account often fails. Buy in the region of the account you play on.

There is no official Android or iPhone version in this announcement. Mobile “GTA 6 download” pages are not the game. They are a risk to the phone. The same is true of PC torrents. There is no announced PC build to torrent. Anything claiming otherwise is pretending.

What the announcement does and does not say about the game

Take-Two describes a single-player story and “the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet”. Earlier Rockstar marketing has placed the story in a modern Vice City with two leads. We are not expanding that into a plot summary, a map size, or a feature list the pre-order release did not itemise. Trailers on Rockstar’s channel are the trailers. A “gameplay leak” reposted in November is not a review, and circulating leaked footage is not something this page will help you do.

The series is a crime fantasy aimed at adults. The console rating will be on the store page. It is not a game for children. We will not describe crimes, weapons, or missions. The useful consumer facts are the date, the platforms, the price in dollars, the pre-load day, and the warning that the PC date does not exist yet.

The calendar around 19 November

Diwali is Sunday 8 November, eleven days earlier. Pre-load day, 12 November, is the Wednesday after Bhai Dooj. Diljit Dosanjh’s Ahmedabad concert is Saturday 21 November, two days after launch. Guns N’ Roses play Bengaluru on 14 November, during the pre-load window. You can install a game and still go to a concert. You cannot install it from a link in a concert group. Black Friday is Friday 27 November, eight days after launch. A retailer may discount accessories that weekend. Whether anyone discounts the game itself is not yet confirmed. The announced price is 79.99 US dollars. Treat a “Black Friday GTA 6 half price” post before the publisher says so as fiction.

India’s own festive sales were in October. They do not set the November game price. If you are budgeting, separate the console (if you still need one), the game, the storage for the install, and the online subscription your platform requires to play with friends. Those are four purchases. The announcement prices only the game, in US dollars.

Storage, accounts, and the day itself

• Check free space on the console in the first week of November. Major Rockstar installs are large. The final size is not yet confirmed here, so leave more than you think, or be ready to delete something.
• Pre-load on 12 November if you bought digitally, using the store you bought from. Pre-load is not “playable early”.
• Physical buyers: the code is inside the box from 12 November. You still download.
• On 19 November, follow the console’s unlock, then the official patch notes. Day-one updates are normal. A third-party “unlock early” tool is malware.
• If the publisher moves the date, the newswire wins and this sentence loses. Check rockstargames.com before you take leave.

Parents: read the rating. The marketing is everywhere a teenager looks. The purchase still belongs to an adult account in most households. Set that expectation before 12 November, not during an argument on the 19th.

The week you actually install it

Put 12 November in the calendar as pre-load day, and 19 November as launch day, and leave the hours blank until the console fills them in. Pre-load day is a Wednesday. In India it sits just after Bhai Dooj. You can download in the background while the household is still in festival week. Launch day is a Thursday. If the unlock turns out to be midnight in your region, that Thursday becomes a very early morning. If it turns out to be a global hour, it might be Thursday afternoon IST. Both are possible. Neither is confirmed. The adult move is to keep Thursday flexible and to look at the store on Wednesday night.

Storage is the other adult move. Delete what you are willing to delete before the 12th, not while a 100-gigabyte bar is stuck. The final install size is not yet confirmed, so the safe assumption is “larger than the last Rockstar game you installed”, not a number we invented. A physical box does not save you the download. The code still pulls the game from the network. A rural or shared connection should start that pull on the 12th, not at the unlock.

Money: the US price is 79.99 dollars before tax. Your region’s price may include tax, may be higher or lower in rupees, and may sit inside a console membership discount that the US press release does not mention. Open your own store. If a seller offers the game at a huge discount before 19 November, the code is probably not theirs to sell. Wait for the official price. You will own the game for years. You do not need to save a speculative five hundred rupees and lose the account.
